A South African counsellor, wherever you are in Australia.
Talk to someone who knows exactly what you left behind — and why it still matters, even in the sunshine.

Home is part of your story.
Over 200,000 South Africans call Australia home, with big communities in Perth, Sydney and Brisbane. Life often looks good from the outside: safer streets, the beach, good schools. Inside, many carry survivor’s guilt, homesickness and the strain of starting again so far away.
Local services are excellent, but explaining the South African part of your story can feel exhausting. With us you don’t have to translate it.
We see South Africans across Australia, including Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Adelaide. Sessions are online, so it doesn’t matter where you live.

Questions South Africans in Australia ask us
Will the time difference work?
Yes. Perth is 6 hours ahead of South Africa and the east coast 8–9 hours. Our morning and midday slots fall in your afternoon or evening.
Can I claim it on Medicare?
No. Our counsellors are registered in South Africa, so Medicare and Australian private health rebates don’t apply. Sessions are paid privately.
How do I pay from overseas?
By card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Yoco. International Visa, Mastercard and Amex cards are accepted, and you don’t need a South African bank account. Prices are in rand; your bank converts them.
Are your counsellors registered?
Yes. Every MyTruth counsellor is registered in South Africa with the HPCSA, ASCHP, CCSA or SACSSP and works under South African professional rules. Please check that receiving online counselling from a South African counsellor is fine where you live.
