A South African counselor for South Africans in the US.
No insurance forms, no long wait, and no explaining what “just now” means. Talk to someone from home.

Home is part of your story.
Around 140,000 South Africans live in the United States, many in Georgia, Texas, Florida, New York and California. Whether you came on an H-1B, an L-1, a green card or for study, the move brings pressures that are hard to name: distance from family, a different pace of work, and a country that doesn’t always understand where you come from.
Finding a counselor in the US can mean insurance networks, high fees and long waits. With MyTruth you book online in minutes and talk to a registered South African counselor who already knows your world.
We see South Africans across the United States, including Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, New York, Florida, San Diego, Los Angeles and Charlotte. Sessions are online, so it doesn’t matter where you live.

Questions South Africans in the United States ask us
Is this covered by my US health insurance?
Usually not. Our counselors are registered in South Africa, not in your state, so most US insurers won’t reimburse sessions. Sessions are paid privately, often for less than a US out-of-network session.
Can I find a time with the time difference?
Yes. South Africa is 6 hours ahead of New York and 9 hours ahead of California (it changes slightly with daylight saving). Most clients book early morning or lunchtime their time.
Is a South African counselor allowed to see me in the US?
Rules on online counselling across borders differ by state. Our counselors work under South African registration and rules, and we ask you to check that this suits you where you live.
How do I pay from overseas?
By card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Yoco. International Visa, Mastercard and Amex cards are accepted, and you don’t need a South African bank account. Prices are in rand; your bank converts them.
