You are believed. What happened was not your fault.
Confidential counselling after sexual assault, rape or sexual abuse — whether it happened last week or decades ago.

Sexual trauma can affect how safe you feel in your body, in relationships and in the world. Many survivors carry it silently for years, often because the first people they told didn’t believe them, or because they were never able to tell anyone at all.
There is no right way to respond. Some people feel numb, some feel intense anger or fear, some blame themselves, and many feel all of these at different times. Every one of these responses makes sense.
In counselling, you set the pace and decide what you share. Our role is to believe you, help you feel safer in yourself, and support you to make choices that are yours — including whether or not to report.
Need help right now? If you have just been assaulted, you can call the GBV Command Centre on 0800 428 428 (24 hours) or emergency services on 10111 / 112.

Common questions
It happened years ago. Is it still worth getting help?
Yes. Many survivors first reach out years or decades later. It is never too late to be heard.
Do I have to report what happened?
No. Counselling is confidential and separate from any legal process. If you do want to report, we can support you through that decision.
Can I choose a female or male counsellor?
Yes. You choose your counsellor, and you can change at any time.
